# NerdNode NerdNode is the founding team behind the DeEEP Network. Our goal is to make a safe, secure and efficient decentralized computing network. NerdNode was created when our team came together with experience in blockchain gaming and distributed computing. On the blockchain side our team had built and invested in distributed ownership, governance, and hosting of games, media and other Web3 assets. With millions of dollars invested in Web3 nodes and assets, they were looking for a way to do actual distributed computing with them. The other half of the team had deep experience in distributed computing. Through IoT edge computing gateways and edge devices they put millions of edge workloads out into the field securely, used by leading brands worldwide, managed completely remotely and autonomously. While most of the world focused on centralizing in a few cloud datacenters. They were moving workloads to the very edge and keeping them just as simple to manage. Looking at the Web3 space they came together to build NerdNode. Starting with a small, centralized solution that was local to the team to work through the issues and gradually growing the hardware, management software and customer base into a scalable solution. The system has grown to manage many thousands of nodes with a profitable revenue base. After about 2 years of work the team is now ready to launch the DeEEP DePIN network that can scale globally and permit true decentralization with secure computing. At the launch of the DeEEP Network, NerdNode is hosting many thousands of web3 nodes running on NerdNode owned hardware that is semi-decentralized.
